Leadership

  • CommLeader (2014) – a 3-day development course for leadership at the Commonwealth Bank, including 360 assessment by peers and stakeholders using the Lifestyles Inventory model.
  • Myers-Briggs (2014) – an internal course at the Commonwealth Bank focusing on personality types and how they interact in the workplace (*I’m an ENFJ)

Project Management

  • Risk Management for Projects (2009) – a 2-day course focusing on identification, mitigation and treatment of risks and issues as one of the key PMBOK disciplines.
  • Project Integration (2000) – run by the Australian Institute of Project Management, this is an intensive course covering integration of projects, and all aspects of project management. A project was undertaken concurrently to combine theoretical and practical elements. Four case studies from personal experience were also examined and evaluated, and analysis submitted to confirm understanding of key concepts.

UX & Design

  • User Experience Design and Research (2015) – I took a 10-week course at Billy Blue College of Design to sharpen up the skills, including research techniques and prototyping in Axure.
  • Axure for Mobile (2015) – as the name suggests, a specialist course focusing on prototyping for mobile and tablet in Axure. Run by Mike Feghali of Sydney UX consultancy Expiriti.
  • MEGA NSW Program (2009) – a 2-month program focusing on innovation linked to the UTS Masters Program, with 13 teams pitching their concepts to mentors at Telstra Experience Centre.
  • Effective Layout and Design (2007) – 1 day course run by UX training company / consultancy Hiser
  • Information Architecture (2007) – 1 day course run by UX training company / consultancy Hiser

Technology

  • PPMC (2012) – a 2-day overview of the HP PPMC Tool implemented at the Commonwealth Bank as part of a toolset managing project requirements, schedules, financials, risks and issues.
  • Sharepoint Designer (2007) – a 5-day introduction covering the Sharepoint Designer tool and its capabilities, intended to broaden its use beyond standard lists and content updates.
